Jean Daniélou, S.J., was among the leading theologians of the twentieth century.

Renowned in his lifetime for his scholarship in the field of Patristics and contributions to theology more broadly, he was largely neglected outside of academic circles following his death. Since CLUNY began recovery work in 2019, he has experienced a revitalization—especially with his brilliant and widely appreciated Prayer as a Political Problem.
