François Mauriac

François Mauriac was a French Catholic novelist, poet, critic, and journalist.

Critically acclaimed and respected, Mauriac received the Grand Prix du roman de l’Académie française for his novel The Desert of Love; awarded the Grand Cross of the Légion d’honneur; and was laureate of the 1952 Nobel Prize in Literature.

Mauriac was one of the most prolific authors of the "Golden Age" of French Catholic literature, and the CLUNY catalog carries fourteen of his powerful novels and spiritual works.
